Training Jessica has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. She has helped shape me into an all around better trainer and person. I have come to realize through Jessica why I love training so much – I want to inspire, challenge, support and aid in the driving force behind someone’s not only physical but mental success and win’s which Jessica has taught me to do.

Jessica is down for a challenge. Every time she steps foot inside the gym she leaves all negativity at the door and tackles everything Lakeside Fitness throw’s her way with determination and a can do attitude. I’ve never seen her not give 110% in our sessions.

This is just the beginning of Jessica’s fitness journey and I am excited and thankful to embark on this journey by her side!

I started at Lakeside Fitness a year ago; reflecting back over this past year I have accomplished more than I ever thought capable with the help of Lakeside Fitness. Over the past year I have lost 40 lbs., gained tremendous strength and endurance, completed my first 10k, completed 3 half marathons, will be completing my first Tough Mudder race in October and I am entertaining the idea of a full marathon next spring!

This has been both a physical and mental journey for me; I have learned to channel my stress through physical activity which in turn has made me the best person I can be at work and at home. I feel most accomplished on the effect this journey has had on my children. Finally choosing to make myself and my health a priority has been the single best decision I have ever made and is 100% reflected in my interactions with my children and the way they choose to make healthier choices because of my actions.

Lakeside Fitness is SO much more than a gym; it is a place where lives are changed, there is genuine interest in your health and well-being and you are made to feel like a part of a family here. I can’t express enough my genuine love for this gym, the awesome workouts that I look forward to each and every day, the trainers and all the opportunities provided to better myself not only physically but mentally as well. I look forward to continuing my journey with Lakeside Fitness and what this next year will bring!

Karen Lippert Lakeside Fitness Fit Body BootcampI just wanted to drop you a personal note. When I started the boot camp a year ago, I was almost 51 years old. I had never belonged to a gym or work out program before. I had 2 friends doing it so I thought that I would give it a try.

I was an athlete in high school but I have never liked working out. Your workouts have been challenging and I was quite sore to start with. Every time we went on vacation, I would pay the price by being sore all over again. BUT…I didn’t give up. I knew that it would be good for me.

Now, a year later, I actually look forward to coming. I think that I may have discovered some endorphins!! Lol. I haven’t really lost any weight but my husband and several friends have noticed a change in my body’s appearance. Who doesn’t love that?!?!

I am not a superstar by any means, but you have both been very patient and very supportive! I am definitely stronger and I do feel better about myself. It is a pretty great feeling as I approach my 52nd birthday.

Thank you for making the classes challenging and varied. I really enjoy learning new ways to push myself.

You both do a great job!

Lakeside Fit Body Boot Camp completely changed my life!!! I joined with the Groupon that they offered in the first half of 2014.

I was at the heaviest I have ever been (close to 250 lbs!) With the help of Lesa, John, and their amazing staff, I finally found the motivation that I needed to get on track.

They are strong leaders and encourage you to become the person that you always knew you could be. In the 4 months that I spent at LFBBC, I lost almost 40 lbs! That 40 lbs coming off was the start of my weight loss journey.

I am now down 71 lbs and happy to say that I have found a new love for exercise. Thank you LFBBC for changing my life and making me healthy!!!!!! xoxoxox

It’s always about losing weight…..

For decades, I have had on and off back pain from lower back vertebra crushed in an auto accident.  A few years ago, that combined with terrible (can’t sleep at night) shoulder pain and after some x-rays the doctor (orthopedic specialist) informed me that I needed rotator cuff surgery and a minimum of 6 months recovery, and when would I like to schedule the surgery.  Not a good prognosis for an active person!  I got a second opinion from a friend (orthopedic surgeon) who gave me a cortisone shot and suggested I try exercise before I resorted to surgery.  So for a couple years, off and on I did physical therapy and some minor exercise and stayed active but always needing to be very careful and in pain when I did too much or turned wrong.

Almost a year ago, my wife (who had been exercising at Lakeside Fitness for awhile) finally convinced me to go and try it.  I wasn’t going to lose weight, (since I only weigh a few pounds more than I did when we got married 26 years ago), I was going so I could live normally, do the things I want, continue to sail a single handed dinghy competitively and coach hockey, and make sure I see my then 8th grade daughter graduate from college!

Lesa and her team at Lakeside Fitness were the motivation I needed. Lesa helped me and kept an eye on me, adjusting as needed so I didn’t hurt the shoulder more and got it strong.  While results didn’t happen overnight, now after about 9 months, I can do whatever I want and here are the metrics that prove that her guidance and exercise work:

  • No more shoulder pain, and no more cortisone
  • No more aching back or sciatica pain
  • I can once again do a roll tack – almost like when I was younger
  • I can still play ice hockey
  • Now over 60, I feel healthier, stronger and as alive as ever

Bonus! = a couple weeks ago, I went to the doctor for my annual physical, my HDL (good cholesterol) increased 30%!!  As the doctor said, that only happens with exercise – you can’t do that with drugs.

Just wanted to say thanks for making me fitter and stronger.

Sometimes the positive changes don’t  readily present on the scale, but I can sure tell in other ways.

I got a little lost with a group of friends while wandering around a city in Switzerland last week.

The map took us up a ten minute very steep pedestrian walkway, kind of like asthma hill at Lapham Peak, but much longer!

By the time we got to the top, everybody was sweaty, red faced, and out of breath. Not me!

I didn’t feel the least bit winded.

A year ago I would have been coughing up a lung!

This is the culmination of 12 weeks of hard work at Lakeside FIT BODY Boot Camp (top pics- Week of 9/21 until today- bottom pics 12/12), improved nutrition and the best supplementation In the world.

I feel absolutely fantastic but what these pictures do not show you is the confidence in myself I got back–enough confidence to post these before and after pictures and enough to enter into a transformation contest against other champions starting 12/26.

I can’t wait to see what is yet to come. Nothing like a little competition paired with big goals!! Thank you for all of help and pushing me Lesa Kinney Gutenkunst, Mary Kraft Spyers-Duran, and Liz Eaves.
